abstract The invention relates to a process for preparing hydantoins and the polyhydantoins thus obtained. To prepare hydantoins is reacted at a temperature of 0 to 450 degrees C, an isocyanate or an organic isothiocyanate optionally masked with unsaturated diamides. The invention applies in particular to the preparation of polyhydantoins useful for making varnishes, thin sheets, adhesives or heat-resistant molded articles.
