abstract The invention describes the production and applications, as sun products, of certain amino-salicylic acid esters. The esters are obtained by reduction of the nitrosalicyl ester with Raney nickel and H 2 in the presence of ethyl acetate. Esters are alkyl esters, alkenyl esters, or cyclic esters which can absorb troublesome ultraviolet rays (2250 to 3200 Angstroms) while allowing the rays to pass above 3200 Angstroms. The compositions (active product plus vehicle or excipient) can be used as a preventive topical application or for the treatment of burns due to the action of the sun.
