The invention relates to the synthesis of patchoulol derivatives. This is a process for the hydroxylation of patchoulol, characterized in that the patchoulol is hydroxylated under aqueous aerobic conditions in the presence of an oxidizing microorganism. This process opens the way to a partial synthetic process for the synthesis of norpatchoulenol from relatively abundant patchoulol. |
