abstract The subject of the invention is a novel iodinated derivative of benzalkonium with antiseptic and disinfectant action. This new derivative corresponds to the crude formula C22 H40 C12 IN and can be prepared by reacting benzalkonium chloride with iodide and chlorine in an aqueous medium. The compound according to the invention is used as an active principle in various bactericidal compositions.
