titleOfInvention PROCESS FOR PREPARING THIENYLACETIC ACIDS
abstract The invention relates to a process for preparing thienylacetic acid by reacting a glyoxylic ester with hydrazine and then with potash. Advantageously, the glyoxylic ester is prepared by condensation of a monochloride monoester of oxalic acid with a thiophenic derivative, in the presence of titanium chloride. These products are used as organic synthesis intermediates for various pharmaceutical type products.
