abstract Øl, l-dithienyl- (3) - 1-hydroxypropyl- (3) õ-Ø1-phenyl-1-hydroxypropyl- (2) õ-amine (formula I) is prepared by condensing, in an inert medium, at a temperature below - 50 degrees C, a lithium-thienyl- (3) with an alkyl ester of beta -halogeno-propionic acid of formula (II, then reacting the compound obtained, of formula (III), with the 2 -amino-1-phenyl-propanol- (1), in an inert medium and in the presence of a basic compound. The reaction product of formula I obtained is dehydrated to obtain Ø1,1-dithienyl- (3) -propen - (1) -yl- (3) õ-Ø1-phenyl-propyl- (2) õ-amine. The compound of formula I possesses valuable pharmacodynamic activities. In addition, it is an important intermediate for the preparation. Ø1,1-dithienyl- (2) -propen- (1) -yl- (3) õ-Ø1-phenyl-1-hydroxypropyl- (2) õ-amine which also has a strong pharmacodynamic activity.
