abstract | Process for the preparation of cephalosporins, in which the cephalosporanic derivative is treated with a polar solvent and then with an organic base to give a mixture, which is cooled to a temperature below -25 degrees C. A cyclic derivative of boron is added to the mixture. and the temperature is raised to about 0 degrees C. An intermediate compound is formed which, by further treatment, with an acylating agent and then with a mixture of water and alcohol, gives a solution containing the acylated cephalosporin. |
