abstract The present invention relates, as a new compound, to isopropyl and 2-propoxyethyl 1,4-dihydro-2,6-dimethyl-4- (3-nitrophenyl) -3,5-pyridine-carboxylate. This compound is obtained by a process, one of the variants of which consists in reacting isopropyl 3'-nitrobenzylidene acetylacetate with 2-propoxyethyl beta-aminocrotonate. The compound of the invention can be used as a medicament. It produces intense and long-lasting vasodilation when administered enterally and parenterally and therefore can be used for therapy and prophylaxis of peripheral circulatory disorders.
