titleOfInvention PREPARATION OF A-AMINO-G-METHYLMERCAPTOBUTYRONITRILE
abstract Process for the preparation of alpha -amino-alpha -methyl-mercaptobutyronitrile. It consists in aminating the alpha -hydroxy-y-methylmercaptobutyronitrile with ammonia in the presence of a proportion of water, preferably equal to more than one mole H 2 O per 1 mole NH 3; the operation is carried out continuously between 50 and 100 degrees C, in 1 to 30 minutes, under 1 to 10 bars.
