abstract | The invention relates to a method for extracting Cu ** ++, Ni ** ++, Co ** ++, Zn ** ++, Cd ** ++, Hg ** ++, Ag ** + ions. ** + and / or Pb ** + ** + from their aqueous solutions. According to the invention: a. said aqueous solutions are brought into contact with an organic phase comprising a solution of an 8-sulfamidoquinoline in an organic solvent substantially immiscile with water, so that at least part of the ions are extracted into the organic phase; b. separating the charged organic phase containing the extracted ions from the aqueous solution in the form of a complex with 8-silfamidoquinoline; and c. at least part of the ions from the organic phase is then stripped by bringing the latter into contact with an aqueous stripping medium, the 8-sulfamidoquinoline and its complex with the metal formed during the extraction process each having a solubility of at least 2% by weight in the substantially water-immiscible solvent. |
