titleOfInvention PROCESS FOR THE REACTION OF THE SULFURIC ACID CONTAINED IN A PRODUCT BASED ON DISULPHONIC ACID OF AN AROMATIC HYDROCARBON
abstract The present invention relates to a process for the reaction of sulfuric acid contained in a disulfonic acid product of an aromatic hydrocarbon. The sulfuric acid contained in a disulfonic acid product of an aromatic hydrocarbon obtained from the reaction of the aromatic hydrocarbon or the monosulfonic acid of the aromatic hydrocarbon. with an excess amount of oleum is reacted with the aromatic hydrocarbon without it being necessary to remove the water formed by the reaction. The disulfonic acid product of the sulfuric acid-containing aromatic hydrocarbon is contacted with a sulfuric acid aromatic hydrocarbon of between about 0.25 and about 2 and at a temperature in the range of 130 to 200 degrees C. Application: intermediate product for the manufacture of resorcinol for example.
