abstract An adhesive bath for application to a single-ended fabric or cord made of a polyamide, aramid, polyester or rayon cord which is subsequently to adhere to the rubber in vulcanized and shaped rubber articles. . According to the invention there is provided a bath of a resorcinol-formaldehyde condensate or a latex of a rubbery vinylpyridine-butadiene styrene terpolymer or a butadiene-styrene rubber copolymer and of the order of about 10% by weight of 'at least one microcrystalline hydrocarbon wax having a melting point of 71 degrees C to 102 degrees C and a molecular weight of up to 1500, this percentage being based on the dry weight of the rubber in the resin-rubber bath. The invention allows in particular the retention of adhesion after exposure to the products of the combustion of oil or kerosene dryers and vulcanization ovens and to the oxidation caused by atmospheric pollutants.
