titleOfInvention | NEW BETAIN SALTS AND THEIR PREPARATION METHODS |
abstract | Betaine salts of formula (I) are new Z is a mole of a lower alkanol). SPECIFICALLY CLAIMED The acid inosinate, acid uridylate and acid cytidylate of betaine. PREPARATION Reaction of betaine with appropriate sodium salt in equimolar amts. in presence of an ion exchanger, followed by concn. of the soln. at 35-40 degrees C. EXAMPLE Inosinic acid from disodium inosine-5-phosphate (5.27 kg) in water (50 litres) percolated through an ion exchanger resin in acid form was collected in a vessel containing betaine (1.17 kg) and the solution was concentrated at 35-40 deg C to 20 litres. The solution was poured into hot ethanol (80 litres), the solution was cooled with stirring and the solid which separated was collected, washed with ethanol and dried to give an 84% yield of hydrated betaine acid inosinate, m.pt. 195 degrees C. |
