abstract Photographic materials are claimed having at least one silver halid emulsion layer contg. specific 2-equivalent colour formers. The colour formers carry a 5-membered unsatd. heterocyclic ring in the coupling position, which is split off during oxidative coupling with a colour developer contg. aromatic primary amino gps. After splitting, the heterocyclic gp. forms a colourless coupling molecule capable of coupling with the oxidn. prods. of an aromatic prim amino gp. contg. colour developer to from a colourless cpd. The named colour formers are esp. useful as yellow formers giving reduced fog on storage compared with prior art 2-equivalent yellow formers. Pref. colour formers are those carrying a 4-monoalkyl 3 pyrazoline 5-one gp. on the coupling position.
