abstract Industrial-scale prpn. of tris(hydroxymethyl) amino methane-gluconate-dihydroxy-aluminate having formula (HO)2Al-O-CH2-(CHOH)4-COOH.NH2 (CH2OH)3 (I) takes place in 2 steps. (1) reaction of D-gluconic acid with Al isopropylate, pref. with stirring at 30-80 (60-70) degrees C and (2) reaction of Al gluconate obtd. with tri-hydroxymethyl aminomethane. (I) has acid-inhibiting activity, high neutralising effect and buffer activity.
