titleOfInvention FORMOPHENOLIC RESIDUAL WATER TREATMENT PROCESS
abstract Aq. effluents contg. HCHO and phenols, e.g. waste waters from PF resin prodn., are purified by evaporating the effluents after they have been treated with a HCHO-blocking chemical agent, and incinerating the evaporation concentrate with (part of) the vapours. Pref. the blocking agent is NH3, an ammonium salt, NaHSO3, SO2 or H2O2 and is pref. used in excess. Process requires less bulky equipment than used in biological processes and can be applied to water contg. HCHO and phenols in any concn.
