abstract | A thermoplastic moulding compsn. comprises (a) a thermoplastic linear polyester and (b) pref. 1-30 pts. based on 100 pts. (a), of a copolyester obtd. from aromatic dicarboxylic acids, 1-100 mole % butene-2-diol-1,4 and 0-99 mole % aliphatic diol, by polycondensn. at 230 degrees C. The compsn. can be processed at high temps. without undergoing degradation and gives moulding with high mechanical strength. Component (a) is pref. derived from aromatic dicarboxylic acid(s) and (cyclo)aliphatic diols, pref. (a) being poly(1,4-butylene)-terephthalate). Component (b) is pref. derived from terephthalic acid, butanediol-1,4 and butene-2-diol-1,4. |
