titleOfInvention PROCESS FOR MANUFACTURING A BIOLOGICAL MASS
abstract Bio compsn. is prepd. by cultivating the Micrococcus freudenreichii K-219 strain (I) which was separated from rhizo-area of maize, selected continuously on nutrient media contg. hydrocarbons as C-source, and having following morphological characteristics and physiological properties: cells are round, single, paired or grouped, having dia. 1-1.5 mu, g. +ve; colonies on meat-peptone-agar are small, white, smooth, shiny, with even edges; ferment glucose aerobically; assimilate glucose, saccharose, mannose, maltose, xylose, arabinose, lactose and trehalose from carbohydrates; mannitol, glycerol from alcohols; from nitrites from nitrates; do not liquefy gelatine; weakly acidify litmus; is non-pathogenic and non-toxic for laboratory animals, rats and rabbits on intra-venous or intra-peritoneal injection; culture multiples steadily at 28-45 degrees C, is morphologically stable, multiples continuously at diluent coefft. of nutrient medium D = 0.4-0.7 hr-1. Nutrient medium also contains sources for N and mineral salts. Growth takes place under non-sterile conditions at 38-44 degrees C and pH 6.8-7, and is followed by separation of bio-compsn.
