titleOfInvention PROCESS FOR TREATING POWDERS CONTAINING METALS
abstract Treatment of dust for recovery of the constituents, esp. metallurgical dust, the novelty being that a suspension contg. max. 50% dust is sorted hydraulically. The material obtd. from the top of the sorter is pref. subjected separately or successively to redn., leaching, and an oxidising or chloride roasting, and these steps may be preceded by a flotation treatment, whereas the material obtd. from the bottom of the sorter can be directly processed into sinter or pellets, possibly with prior leaching. The sorter is pref. (a) a hydro-cyclone; (b) a hydraulic ultrasonic sieve; or (c) a hydraulic vibration sieve. Used esp. for the recovery of zinc and lead from furnace throat gases.
