titleOfInvention ANIONIC POLYMERIZATION PROCESS OF UNSATURE MONOMERS
abstract Anionic polymerisation of unsatd. monomers, of formula CH2=CXY, (where X and Y are hydrogen, aryl, vinyl, -CN, NO2, 1-6C COO-alkyl or -Cl, takes place in the presence of organically substd. alanates of formula: MAlHx(OR)4-x are used where M is a Gp. Ia metal; x is 1 or 2, and R is -CH2CH2OR' or -CH2CH2N(R')2, (in which R' is 1-4C alkyl). The pref. proportion of aldnates is 0.01-5.0 mol. % of unsatd. monomer. Pref. alanates are NaAlH/-OCH2-CH2--OCH3/3 or NaAlH2/ -O-CH2-CH2-O-CH3/2. Improved solubility in the process and greater uniformity of the product are obtd.
