abstract | A decorative lacquer comprises (a) a primer based on hide glue and Mendon whiting, (b) a paste ("assiette adoner") (c) a copal varnish or a gum lac, (d) an alcohol based dye and (e) Au, Pt, Ag, Al or Cu powder. The lacquer is applied onto a substrate by applying the above components in the given order with drying before applying the next component. Used for the decorative coating of carboard, wood, metal, etc. The coating also has good sound insulating properties and heat resistance. The metal powder is pref. gold used in conjunction with bronze which is added before the gold or in admixture with the gold. The metals are pref. used in a pure state. The components are applied with a brush. |
