abstract Medicaments for treating gastric hyperacidity, aerophagy and meteorism associated with emotional stress contain (a) a benzodiazepine-type psychosedative; (b) an antacid; (c) an antiflatulent; and opt. (d) suitable carriers and/or additives. Component (a) is pref. chlordiazepoxide, diazepam, medazepam, bromazepam, cloxazolazepam, lorazepam, oxazepam, oxazolazepam, pyazepam or temazepam. Component (b) is pref. a Gp. I, II or III metal salt, hydroxide or oxide, or a mixt. or coppte. thereof, esp. an Al(OH)3/MgCO3 coppte. and/or MgO. Component (c) is pref. dimethylpolysiloxane ("simethicone"). The (a):(b):(c) wt. ratio is pref. 1:50-1000:10-150, esp. 1:100-700:15-125. Unit doses pref. contain 0.5-5 mg. (a), 500-700 mg. (b) and 75-125 mg. (c).
