titleOfInvention Microwave guide duplexer - has copper covered diametral diaphragm projecting from sides of body
abstract The duplexer, for satellite communication uses a transmitting band of approximately 5.9 to 6.4 GHz and a receiving band of approximately 3.7 to 4.2 GHz. The duplexer consists of a cylindrical body with an internal diameter of 54 mm, a diametral diaphragm inside the body and a rectangular iris opening of approximately 10 mm by 35 mm in the side of body. The duplexer is manufactured by electrodeposition using a cylindrical core. This core is made of light alloy and has located diametrally the diaphragm which has already been coated with a layer of copper as used in the electrodeposition. The diaphragm protrudes from the core by approximately 0.5 mm on each side and is chamfered. The process provide good continuity between the diaphragm and the inside of the body.
