abstract A photographic film is based on a polyester contg. >=90 mole% ethylene 2,6-naphthalate units and an intrinsic viscosity >=0.40 determined in o-chlorophenol at 35 degrees C. The film has an opacity is not >4.5% and a Youngs modulus of pref. >=50,000 in both longitudinal and transverse directions. The film is more stable dimensionally than polyethylene terephthalate films making it more suitable for precision work in reduced scale reproduction and high temp. development.
