titleOfInvention Prodn of bubbles in boiling liquid for visual effect - without apparent power supply
abstract A low b.pt. liq. such as fluorinated hydrocarbon is boiled at ambient temp. in a transparent vessel and vapour bubbles pass up a transparent column to a condenser having an absorbent sheath dipping into a water bath. The whole resembles a still. Evaporative cooling condenses the vapour and the liq. returns to the vessel. This process can continue indefinitely under suitable ambient conditions which, in the case of CFCl3, are that the temp. should be above 10 degrees C and relative humidity below 85%. Forminal effect is thus obtd. giving the impression of continuous distn. without apparent heat or power source.
