titleOfInvention | Cleaning and degreasing metal articles with aq soln - contg organic hydrotropic electrolyte and organic sequestering agents |
abstract | Industrial purification and degreasing of articles, esp. metals, takes place by treating with a solvent-free aq. soln. having pH 9-13 contg. as organic hydrotropic electrolyte, (I), 0.1-20 wt. % benzene sulphonate, 1-4C alkyl- or dialkyl benzene sulphonates, or their mixtures, and as organic sequestering agents, 0.1-25 wt. % aminopolycarboxylic acids, their salts, aminopolyphosphonic acids and/or their salts. Wt. ratio (I): (II) is 2:1 to 1:3. Partic. for surfaces bearing fatty, metal dust- and/or rust-contaminated dirt, MoS2 or graphite, e.g. engines, combustion machines, crane magnets, metal plates, vehicles, tractors and workshop benches and floors. (I) and (II) act synergetically, low temps. and mild alkaline conditions are used; incrustation is prevented; baths can be re-used; process causes no pollution. |
