titleOfInvention Meta and/or para halogen substd. nitrobenzenes prepn. - by reacting the tri- to pentahelogenated cpds. with copper and org. acid
abstract Halogeno-nitrobenzenes in which the halogen atoms are meta and/or para to the NO2 gp. are prepd. by dehalogenating the corresp. more highly halogenated cpds., i.e., the tri- to penta-halogenated cpds. having one or two halogen atoms in ortho position with copper and an org. acid. The process allows the prepn. of cpds. which were difficult to obtain in prior art e.g., cpds. simultaneously halogenated in meta and para position and provides an alternative method for prepg. polyhalogenoanilines by redn. of the obtd. halogeno-nitrobenzenes. The process is simpler and more selective than that of FR 71.43773.
