titleOfInvention Anti-protozoal diamino guanidine derivs - esp useful for treatment of coccidiosis in fowl
abstract Cpds. of formula (I) and their physiologically acceptable salts are new: (where R1 and R3 are each H or 1-6C alkyl; R2 and R4 are phenyl (opt. substd. by 1-3 halo, CN or CF3), styryl (opt. substd. by 1 halo) or thiophene residue (opt. substd. by 1 halo); R5 and R6 are H or 1-6C alkyl; R7 is 1-6C alkyl substd. by (a) 1-6 halogen(s); (b) phenyl opt. substd. by 1-3 halo; or (c) phenoxy opt. substd. by 1-3 halo, 1-3 alkyl or alkoxy (1-6C), a 2-4C carbalkoxy gp. or phenoxy opt. substd. by 1-3 halo; or R7 may be 1-6C alkoxy (opt. substd. by 1-3 halo), 3-6C alkenoxy, a 4-7 membered cycloalkoxy (the ring opt. being bridged by 1-4C), benzyloxy (the ring opt. being substd. by 1-3 halo or one NO2, CH3 or OCH3), 1-6C thioalkoxy, phenoxy, phenyl (opt. substd. by 1-3 halo, a CN, 1-2 NO2, Cl and NO2, 1-3 alkyl or alkoxy (1-6C), Cl and CH3, 1-2 carboxy, 1-2(2-6C) carbalkoxy, 1-3 OH, one acetoxy, benzoyloxy, sulpho, phenylsulphonyl or sulphamoyl, amino substd. by 1-2 (1-6C) alkyl or one acetyl, or a phenoxy gp.; or R7 may be pyridyl, thienyl (opt. Cl-substd.) or furyl). (I) have good anti-protozoal activity and are esp. useful in prophylaxis and treatment of coccidiosis in domestic animals such as pigs, calves, sheep and rabbits and esp. fowl. (I) are administered at 5-750, esp. 15-100 ppm in feeds.
