abstract | (I) are eluted from their antigen complexes using eluent solns. contg. >=1 chromate, bichromate, chlorate or perchlorate at molarity 0.01-0.1. The technique is esp. for recovery of 'blocking' (I) from human tumours and placenta; these D-series immunoglobulins are destroyed under the acid conditions used to elute IgG and IgA antibodies. The corresp. antigens may also be recovered e.g., neoplastic antigens useful for specific immunotherapy or for vaccination of animals to give specific antisera. |
