abstract The novel title cpds are of formula (I) and (II): (where X is F, Cl, Br or CF3; R1 is benzyl (opt. substd by F, Cl, CH3, CH3O, CF3, or 3-4-dimethoxy), or acylmethyl of formula RCOCH2 where R is 1-4C alkyl or phenyl (opt. substd by F, Cl, CH3, CH3O or CF3); Y is F, Br or CF3, R2 is allyl methallyl, crotyl or RCOCH2, and n is 0, 1 or 2). Pharmaceutical compsns contg cpds of formulae (I) (in which R1 may also CH3) (II) (where Y=X and R2 may also be CH3 or CH2CH2OH) and formula (III): (where R3 is F, Cl, Br or CH3) are also claimed (I) and (II) are prepd by reaction of the corresp. phenol or thiophenol with R1Hal or R2Hal.
