titleOfInvention Fertilizer prodn. from lignocellulose-contg. waste - by digesting with sulphuric-phosphoric acid mixt., neutralizing then treating with ammonia
abstract The finely ground waste (I) is reacted, without may external heating, with an acid mixt. contng. at least 10 wt.% H2SO and 20-80 wt.% H2SO4 on (I); allowing reaction to proceed until temp. rise caused by the exothermic reaction has ceased; neutralising (e.g. with CaCO3, Ca(OH)2), then treated neutralised mass with NH3 or a cpd. thereof (esp. NH4OH or anhydrous NH3). The acid may contain 10-90 wt.% H2SO4 and H3PO4 is at least 65 wt.% when H2SO4 is only 10%; suitably H2SO4 is about 40% and H3PO4 is 60%. (I) is esp. sawdust of mesh size 60 and the reaction product is dried and granulated using its own heat of reaction.
