abstract | Thermographic reprodn. sheet is prepd. by reacting a silver salt with a cpd. which can be deactivated by ultra-violet light, and contains as toning agent a reaction prod. of a cyclohexyl isocyanate with a phthalazinone, e.g., the compound of formula:- The sheet is pref. a support covered with a layer contg. a binder, pref. polyvinylbutyral, the above phthalazinone amide and a silver salt pref. of an org acid. In an adjacent layer, which may be on a separate sheet, is the compound which reacts with the silver salt together with a sensitising dye, which when exposed to ultra-violet light deactivates the reactive cpd. The toning agent results in images of max. colour density. |
