abstract A compsn. for cleaning natural human teeth, removing tartar and caries and preventing lime-deposits comprises an aq. soln. of an N-halogen cpd. (Cl, Br, I) consisting of N-halo-sulphamic acid or an organic N-halo-nitrogen cpd. (2-20C), namely of N-halo-amines contg. OH, SO3H, COOH and an N-acyl or N-aminoacyl (1-18C), and enough buffer to maintain the pH at 10.5-11.5. The prefd. N-halo-cpd. is N-chlorogylcine. Dentine and enamel are not affected by the compsn.
