titleOfInvention | Separation of oil/water emulsions - obtained in microbiologica de-waxing of petroleum fractions |
abstract | Emulsions formed in microbial de-waxing of petroleum fractions in the 230-450 degrees C. boiling range, contng. aq. nutrient soln., dewaxed product and yeast, are treated with 2-5% aq. ammonia-soda soln. with wt. ratio of ammonia to soda of 4 : 1 to 1 : 4; 15-50 kg. soln. are used per tonne petroleum and treatment is at 60-100 degrees C. On standing the emulsion separates into 3 sharp layers, of oil, nutrient soln. and yeast. |
