titleOfInvention Heterocyclic complexing agent - replacing thiosulphate in diffusion transfer process giving improved density
abstract Diffusion transfer process using Ag halide complexing agents of general formula: (where m and n are 0-1; Z completes a 5-6 membered heterocycle. The -NH pg has a pKa of 8-16. M is -CH(A) where A is H sulphonic acid, amino, carboxylic acid or 1-10C hydrocarbon. L is as M or -CH(OH)-, -CO-, -CONH-, X1-4 are -N=, AN=, CH2A, C(A)=, -CH(A)= or -C(A)=C(A)-. Pref. cpds are 2-pyrrolidone, 2:3-pyrazine dicarboxamide, 5-amino-(1H)-tetrazole, 4:5 dicarboxyimidazole and 3:5-dicarboxypyrazole.
