titleOfInvention Fibre-forming polyamides - contg benzene sulphonate units with improved affinity for basic dyes
abstract The polyamide fibres are formed from a mixt. of (A) a polyamide with 10-50 mol. % recurring units of formula (in which X is Li, Na, K or NH4 and the two CO groups are not in adjacent positions) and (B) a normal fibre-forming polyamide. Proportions are such as to give 10-100 g. equivs. sulphonate and 30-80 g. equivs. amine per 106 g. mixt. X is pref. Na and (A) contains 20-40 mol % of units (I). (A) is made by melt polymsn of cpds. of formula (in which R is -OH, -Cl, -OCH3 or -OC2H5) with a mixt. of iso- or tere-phthatic acids or derivs. and 2-12C diamines and opt. 2-12C monoamino carboxylic acids or their lactams. The polyamide fibres have increased affinity for basic dyes and reduced affinity for acid dyes.
