titleOfInvention | Biotechnical prodn of 2-substd purine ribonucleotides - - by fermentation in presence of purines or their ribonucleosides |
abstract | 2-Substd. purine ribonucleotides, esp. 2-methyl- or 2-haloadenine-9-beta-D-ribofuranoside 51-mono, di- and triphosphates, are produced on a biotechnical scale by culturing a microorganism of the genus Brevibacterium (pref. B.ammoniagenes ATCC 6872), Arthrobacter (pref. ATCC 21085 or A.citreus ATCC 11624), Corynebacterium (pref. ATCC 21084) or Micrococcus (pref. M.sodonensis ATCC 15932) capable of producing ribonucleotides, in a nutrient medium of otherwise conventional compsn. contg. a purine deriv., pref. 2-methyl- or 2-haloadenine, or the corresp. ribonucleoside, and isolating the product from the culture broth. The products are pharmacologically active and are inters. for other ribonucleotides. |
