abstract | Filler is composed of silica, oxides of Zn, Ti or Al, silicates, silicoaluminates or metal carbonates having polymers grafted thereon. Charge is produced by suspending the particles (presenting ionic electron donor sites) in a solvent contg. AlCl3, BF3 or ZnCl2 to produce carbocations in the polymer which contains double bonds or carbonyl or peroxy groups. The fillers have diverse applications such as in synthetic rubber, vulcanisater, inks, paints, paper and plastics. |
