Cpds (I) where Z is CO are prepd by reacting a cpd. (II) with RMgHal and reacting the resulting cpd. (III) with aqs. NH4Cl (R-Li may be used instead of RMgHal. Other cpds (I) may be prepd by appropriate further reaction of (I; Z = CO).
