titleOfInvention Phosphonic acid deriv prepn
abstract Phosphoric acid deriv. prepn. The cpds. of formula where R' is H or lower alkyl, R'' is R' or acyl deriv X is O or S, Y and Z each are -OR, -SR or -NR1R2 the dotted lines represent a single double bond when the ring nitrogen atom is unsubstituted, n is 0 or 1, R is H or a hydrocarbon group and R1 and R2 each are H, a hydrocarbon group an alkoxy or an acyl group, and their salts when at least one of Y and Z is -OH or -SH and cyclic derivs. when Y and Z combined are the residue of a polyfunctional hydrocarbon compd. e.g. cis-(2-methyl-3-aziridinyl)-phosphonic acid, are prepd. by (1) irradiating an azide (2) reacting an amine R'NH2 with a compd. where X' is hal or the olefin obtained on dehydro-halogenation or (3) reacting an aziridine with a halophosphonic acid deriv. The compd. are antibacterial agents.
