abstract Title cpds. are proscillaridine and 19-oxo-proscillaridine 2', 3'-carbonates and their 4'-0-alkyl and -acyl derivs. They are prepd. by reacting proscillaridine or 19-oxo-proscillaridine or their 4'-0-alkyl or -acyl derivs. with N,N'-carbonyl-diimidazole or with imidazole-N-carboxylic acid esters and optionally separating resulting mixtures by column chromatography. The reaction of proscillaridine or 19-oxo-proscillaridine with N,N'-carbonyldiimidazole gives the 2',3'-carbonate and/or the 2',3'-carbonate-4'-(N-imidazolyl)carbonate, either of which reacts with an acid anhydride or chloride to give the corr. 2', 3'-carbonate-4'-acylate.
