titleOfInvention Prodn of an optical bleaching stilbene cpd for esp - cellulosic-/polyamide textiles
abstract A stilbene cpd. used as an optical bleach (esp. for cellulosic/polyamide textiles) comprises cpd. or is salt (II). It is made by reacting 2 mols (CCl)3N3 (III) in an aqs. or org. aqs. medium (IV) (opt. in the presence of equiv. amts. of acid acceptors (V)), in arbitrary order with 1 mol. 4,4'-diaminostilbene 2,2' disulphonic acid (VI), 2 mols PhNH2, and 2 moles 3-Me aminopropionitrile (VII), and opt. converting the reaction prods. to (II), esp. alkalimetal-, NH4-, triethanolamine-, diethylamine- etc. salts. (I) is used in amt. 0.001-1 (0.005-0.5) wt. % or, (if as pref.) in combination with cationic softeners (VIII) in amt. 0.001-1 (0.005-0.2) wt.% (I). (VIII) are of type: (R1 = 15-20C aliph. hydrocarb. residue R2 = 1-3C alkyl gp. R3 = residue R1 or R2; X = anion, esp. hal., SO"4 alkylsulphate or acetate; n = integer 1-2).
