A method is presented for killing the resting phase forms of a bacterium capable of forming resting phase forms, reducing viability, and/or preventing germination. The method may comprise applying a composition comprising one or more resin acids to the resting phase forms of the bacteria and thus killing the resting phase forms of the bacteria, reducing viability, and/or preventing germination at least partially. Also presented is the use of a composition comprising one or more resin acids to kill the resting phase forms of a bacterium capable of forming resting phase forms, to reduce viability, and/or to prevent germination. |
