A process for producing cellulose and hemicellulose leachable pulp from metal ion-containing, undried and high-viscosity paper pulp, and a process for preparing a fiber spinning solution from cellulose and hemicellulose. According to the invention, the pulp is contacted with endoglucanase to modify the pulp and the pH of the pulp thus obtained is adjusted to a value of about 2-3 to remove metal ions. The pulp is washed with water to raise the pH above 4, after which the consistency of the washed cellulosic pulp is increased to at least 30%. The wet modified cellulose pulp thus obtained can be dissolved in the liquid phase using a solvent, such as an ionic liquid, to form a spinning solution. |
