The invention relates to a mouthpiece and a method for antibacterial treatment of oral surfaces. The mouthpiece comprises a body (10) made of a light-conducting material, wherein the body (10) comprises face and tongue outer surfaces (11, 12) and face and tongue inner surfaces arranged against the face and tongue surfaces of the teeth, respectively. Attached to the body (10) is a light source (20) arranged to supply light to the tooth surfaces, the light source (20) being located on at least one of said outer surfaces (11, 12) and providing said light through said inner surfaces and to the facial and tongue surfaces of the teeth, a portion of the light is arranged to pass through said body (10) from the face side to the tongue side, or vice versa. |
