IT CONSISTS OF REACTING A COMPOUND OF GENERAL FORMULA (II) OR ITS SALTS, WITH A RENTAL AGENT CAPABLE OF RENTING A HYDROXY GROUP TO OBTAIN AN ALCOXY GROUP, SUCH AS DIALKYL SULPHATE, ALKYL DALKYL SULPHONATE, ALKYL DALKYL SULPHONATE. THE REACTION IS CARRIED OUT IN A CONVENTIONAL SOLVENT THAT DOES NOT ADVERSELY INFLUENCE THE REACTION, SUCH AS WATER, ACETONE, DICHLOROMETHANE, METHANOL, ETHANOL OR PROPANOL.
