METHOD OF PREPARING A MICROBIOCIDAL COMPOSITION. IT CONSISTS OF: A) REACTING PHOSPHORUS PENTOXIDE WITH A HYDROXIALKYL COMPOUND WITH C 1 TO 8, AT A TEMPERATURE BETWEEN 60 AND 120JC, TO OBTAIN A DERIVATIVE OF FORMULA (I), WHERE R IS AN ALKYL GROUP OF C 1 TO 8, YX IS A POSITIVE ION; B) REACT THE PRODUCT OF STEP A) WITH A TERTIARY AMINE AT A TEMPERATURE BETWEEN 80 AND 120JC; AND C) MIXING AN EFFECTIVE CONCENTRATION OF A PRODUCT FROM STAGE A) OR, IN THE CASE OF PHOSPHATE, STAGE B) WITH A MATERIAL, SUCH AS FABRICS, PLASTICS, FIBERS, WATER, WOOD AND THE LIKE.
