PROCEDURE TO PREPARE PYRROLIDINDIONE DERIVATIVES. IT CONSISTS OF REACTING A FORMULA (II) COMPOUND WITH FORMULA (III) METHYL BROMOACETATE IN THE PRESENCE OF LITHIUM DIISOPROPYLAMINE IN TETRAHYDROPHURANE, TO GIVE A FORMULA (IV) COMPOUND; AND HEATING THE PREVIOUS RESULTING COMPOUND WITH SULFURIC ACID, TO OBTAIN PYRROLIDINDIONA DERIVATIVES FROM FORMULA (I) WHERE N IS 2 OR 3; AND R1 AND R2 ARE N-PROPYL OR ISOPROPYL, OR TOGETHER WITH NITROGEN, FORM A 2,6-DIMETHYL-1-PIPERIDINYL GROUP. THEY HAVE PHARMACEUTICAL UTILITIES AS ANTIARRHYTHMIC AGENTS. |
