A HIGHLY ABSORBENT MATERIAL ALLOWS THE EVACUATION OF THE GASES DISPLACED FROM THE HOUSING CHAMBER BY THE LIQUID SAMPLE BEING OBTAINED; THE MATERIAL EXPANDS ON CONTACT WITH THE LIQUID SAMPLE TO PROVIDE AN IMPENETRABLE BARRIER TO LIQUIDS. THE ABSORBING MATERIAL GOES SEPARATELY AS A SLEEVE.
