abstract PROCEDURE FOR OBTAINING ANTRANILIC ACIDS SUBSTITUTED WITH BASIC RADICALS AND THEIR PHYSIOLOGICALLY COMPATIBLE SALTS, OF FORMULA (I), IN WHICH R IS FURYL, TENYL OR PHENYL. IT CONSISTS IN THE REACTION OF SAPONIFICATION OF A NITRILE OF FORMULA (II), IN WHICH R IS THE SAME AS IN FORMULA (I). SAPONIFICATION IS CARRIED OUT WITH AQUEOUS SOSA OR POTASE BLEACH IN EXCESS THE REFLUX TEMPERATURE OF THE REACTION MIXTURE. THE PRODUCT OBTAINED IS PRECIPITATED AT PH 3-4 IN THE FORM OF CARBOXYLIC ACID, WHICH, AFTER PURIFYING BY RECCRYSTALLIZATION, IS TRANSFORMED IN THE CORRESPONDING SALT. THESE COMPOUNDS HAVE PHARMACOLOGICAL APPLICATIONS AS SALIDIURETICS FOR THE TREATMENT OF EDEMAS AND HYPERTONIA.
